Can anyone recommend a good place for custom promotional items like mugs, buttons, t-shirts and mousepads? Is there something better than Cafe Press out there?
i must confess i do love winter. the whole idea of snuggling up with a good book or watching a favorite movie while the snow falls outside is right up my alley. however,an ice storm, 17 degree weather, and NO electricity for two days is not. on top of that i slipped and fell backwards landing on my elbows (so please excuse my one handed typing), so i got to spend six wonderful hours at the ER last night. it took so long because it was filled with poor bastards like myself who were falling like idiots outside left and right. oh, and only two ER docs didn't help. so after given a sling and two percocets i was on my way home. by the way percocet really didn't do anything for me. i was still sore just whacked outta my head and a tad sick to my stomach.
the ice storm put close to 10,000 homes without power in a city of 36,000 and 55,000 homes were left in the dark in the surrounding area. trees and limbs were falling from the weight of the ice and taking power lines with them. and a few homes and cars while they were at it. luckily my parents have a gas oven and water heater so we had warm water and could cook. and the oven worked as a temporary heater on an off thru the day. we turned it off while we slept. the power finally came back on last evening. i still dont have power at my apt in jackson. i went over day before yesterday and it looked like a war zone. trees down everywhere.
anyway, heres a couple of pics of the weather. keep in mind that what you are looking at is about two inches of sleet with a quarter inch layer of solid ice on top.
Last week while scanning ebay I came across this outfit with an "L" on the chest. In the description the lady said it was marked with Japanese writing and had a little black figure on it. She then said it was close to Francie size but was a little tight on her. Could this be a Lady Licca fashion? I waited out the remainder of days on the auction and was surprised to see that no one else was bidding. I placed my bid and I won! I won the outfit for $7. When it arrived I opened it up to find that the outfit was crispy mint. Only a touch of dirt on the color from handling. With verification from my friend Cynthia, it indeed a LL fashion. I can't believe I got a Lady Licca fashion. Yay! If this outfit had been on YJP it would have gone for a lot more. My poor Lady Licca has been in a storage box since last year. I never got around to cleaning her thoroughly or even setting her hair properly. Well when I knew the outfit was on it's way, I got my butt in gear.
The white is not dirty. It's actually beige. The whole thing has been Oxy cleaned.
Well I've managed to get through this far into the season without getting sick...until now. And of course this comes one week before I head to NY for Toy Fair. Hopefully I'll be better in the next few days. Last night I couldn't sleep. I had sinus issues and was blowing my nose every five seconds, it kinda hinders sleep. I spent the night at mom and dad's night because I went to the movies with Theresa to see "Because I Said So" (IT SUCKED, BIGTIME) and by the time it was out it was just more convenient to spend the night.
I spent the night going through my doll storage boxes I still have there and I came to the conclusion that I HAVE A LOT OF FUCKIN' DOLLS!! I was under the delusion that I had streamlined my collection a couple years back when I was out of work. But I just keep opening more and more boxes and they are filled with loose dolls. I either need to sell some or at least take them out of hiding and take their pics or something. I spent the night last night redressing my repro Liccas. So they will be the first dolls to be photographed. Along with some of the other vintage Japanese stuff that have been in hiding over the past year.
I'm in Orlando this weekend celebrating with my bf Ken. We've had a great weekend. We spent all of yesterday at Disney MGM and Epcot. I bought some goodies yesterday including a Tinkerbell ornament and four vintage Disney movie posters. With Ken's moms discount I got all the posters for $22. I can't wait to put them up in my apartment when I get home. One of the posters is for the "Computer that wore Tennis shoes" and the "Apple Dumpling Gang." hehe I also bought Ken a poster of "Candle Shoe" staring Jodie Foster. Just all goodness from the late 60s to mid 70s. On Friday I found album frames on sale at Michaels for $5 a piece so I had to grab some of those. Ken had bought me a "It's a Small World" album (I'm a lucky boy) featuring MB artwork so I want to put that up as soon as possible, plus some additional albums I want to put up.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday my boyfriend and friends were here so I finally got a chance to decorate my trees. The house is all cute up as my Ken would say.:) Thanks to Juli, Nathaniel and Ken. I love you all. I'll be posting detail shots later this week.
